Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (for drizzling)
  • Additional chocolate chips for melting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
  2. Make the Peanut Butter Mixture: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the peanut butter, corn syrup, and sugar. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and starts to bubble. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Combine with Rice Krispies: Pour the peanut butter mixture over the Rice Krispies in a large bowl. Gently mix until all the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. Press into the Pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it down firmly with a spatula or your hands to create an even layer.
  5. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  6. Drizzle the Chocolate: Use a spoon or a piping bag to drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the Rice Krispie treats.
  7. Set and Serve: Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Cut into squares and enjoy!
